Is in his third year as a major league coach after spending 20 years as a minor league manager, coach or instructor…Spent the previous three seasons as the Orioles' minor league infield coordinator before being promoted to the major league staff…Took some time out of the 2010 season to fill in as interim manager of the Triple-A Norfolk Tides (from June 4th through the end of the season after Gary Allenson's promotion to the Baltimore coaching staff)…Managed the club to a 43-46 record…Also served as a minor league coach and manager in the minors for the Orioles for five seasons from 1993-97…Served as a player-coach at Triple-A Rochester in 1993 before becoming the infield instructor in 1994…In addition to his duties as minor league infield instructor, Dickerson also managed rookie-level Bluefield to Appalachian League championships in 1996 and 1997…Left the Orioles in 1998 to become the infield coordinator for the Arizona Diamondbacks organization…Was named Arizona's minor league field coordinator in 1999 before being named the manager of the Double-A El Paso club in 2000…Returned to the infield instructor position for Arizona in 2001…Joined the Chicago Cubs in 2002 for a four-year stint as manager of the Double-A West Tenn Diamond Jaxx, where he went 291-264, reaching the postseason twice…Served as interim manager for 11 games for Triple-A Iowa in 2006 and became the full-time manager for Iowa in 2009…Was the Cubs' minor league infield and bunting coordinator from 2006-08…Following the 2009 season he managed the Mexicali club in the Mexican Winter league to a playoff berth…Served as manager for Mesa in the 2002 Arizona Fall League.


Was drafted in the 23rd round of the 1987 amateur draft by the New York Yankees out of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA…Played seven seasons in the minors with the Yankees and Orioles, batting .236 with 13 homers and 159 RBI in 437 games…Played for Buck Showalter from 1987-89 in the Yankees farm system…Was a teammate of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders in 1987 with Class-A Fort Lauderdale.
