Porcello changes up pitching game plan
Rick Porcello didn't last nearly long enough to earn the win in the Tigers' comeback victory Thursday night, but he pitched long enough with damage control to keep the Tigers in the game. To do so, he had to change his game for the last few innings.

Miggy playing through jammed right pinky
There was a very good reason Miguel Cabrera was shaking his hand at times during his at-bats Thursday evening. His right pinky, which he jammed on a ground ball earlier in the week, was bothering him in the cold weather.

Miggy goes deep in fourth consecutive game
Miguel Cabrera pulled a 2-2 pitch from Twins lefty Scott Diamond in the first inning Thursday and lofted it into the left-field seats for his sixth home run in four games. Cabrera is one game shy of tying the Tigers' franchise record of five straight games with a homer.

Younger brother Ben visits with Verlander, Tigers
The hitter in the Verlander family paid a visit to Comerica Park on Thursday. It wasn't a pre-Draft workout for Old Dominion slugger Ben Verlander, whose three-homer game this spring put his name in scouts' notebooks. Instead, it's a week to visit his big brother along with their parents while the Tigers are home.

Prince takes care of business in Tigers' comeback win
The way Miguel Cabrera is hitting, the Twins wanted nothing to do with him with a chance to pull the Tigers ahead. Once again, Prince Fielder took care of the run instead. On a night when Cabrera stretched his home run streak to four consecutive games, it was a deflected RBI single by Fielder that pulled Detroit ahead for good in a 7-6 win over the Twins on Thursday.
