Local fans get priority for potential Yanks tiebreaker
By Andrew Simon / MLB.com
The club is conducting the sale so that season ticket holders and those living in its broadcast territory get the first shot at snatching up tickets for the game, which would be played on Thursday.
The Orioles currently are tied with the Yankees for the American League East lead, and if the standings hold over the final three games of the regular season, the tiebreaker game would become necessary. The winner would move directly to the AL Division Series, while the loser would take on the other Wild Card club in a one-game playoff.
Orioles full and 29-game season plan holders who paid their postseason invoice have already received their tiebreaker tickets, and can purchase additional tickets on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET at orioles.com. Those with 13-game plans also can buy tickets during that window.
During the next two-hour block, people residing in the MASN broadcast territory -- encompassing Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, Delaware, as well as parts of Pennsylvania, North Carolina and West Virginia -- will get an exclusive ticket-buying window.
If more tickets remain at 2 p.m., they will become available to all fans, regardless of location.
