Chavez suffers strained right hamstring

Chavez was diagnosed with a strained right hamstring shortly afterward.
"I'm not real sure whether it's a DL-able one and unfortunately, you don't really get a feel for it until the next day," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "So we'll see. It's going to be a challenge. It's just a matter of whether you think it'll heal within a certain period of time or if it's something that's that bad. But on a hot, sticky night like this, the first thought is hoping it's more cramp than anything else. But usually it's not."
Head athletic trainer Richie Bancells and Showalter both came out to second base and Chavez came off the field several moments later, still sporting a heavy limp, but able to walk off without help.
The Orioles put a pair of runners on to start the bottom of the sixth, with former Pirate Steve Pearce reaching on an error before Chavez. The Orioles' starting left fielder with Nolan Reimold on the 60-day disabled list, Chavez was on the DL earlier this season with a left oblique injury and Baltimore is also without outfielder Nick Markakis.
Ryan Flaherty ran for Chavez in the sixth, scoring as a part of a four-run frame that pushed the Orioles' lead to 8-2.
