    The Chicago Cubs have selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Mike Baxter from Triple-A Iowa, recalled outfielder Junior Lake from Triple-A and activated left-handed pitcher Tsuyoshi Wada from the 15-day disabled list. Left-handed pitcher Phil Coke has been designated for assignment and right-handed pitcher Brian Schlitter has been optioned to Triple-A. Additionally, the Cubs have activated right-handed pitcher Dallas Beeler off of the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A.
