McCrory has labrum tear in right shoulder
Reliever's rehab expected to take at least six months

ST. PETERSBURG -- The Orioles got some clarity on the case of reliever Bob McCrory on Wednesday, who underwent an arthrogram that revealed a minor labrum tear in his right shoulder. McCrory will undergo corrective surgery Friday and is expected to take at least six months to rehabilitate his pitching shoulder."Listen, I feel terrible for Bob McCrory," said manager Dave Trembley. "But on the other hand, I'm sure it gives him an answer on why he was pitching the way he was. ... He was not pitching the way we all felt that he was capable of pitching. It must have been something that he was dealing with for a while and he didn't say anything."
McCrory, worked to a 3.88 ERA in 50 games for Triple-A Norfolk this season and pitched to a 17.18 mark in seven appearances with the Orioles. Trembley said he wasn't certain when McCrory hurt himself, and he also said that the first he heard about it was when the 27-year-old had shoulder pain during a Sunday side session.
"He hadn't pitched for six days, and he gets up on Sunday and said that his shoulder is killing him," said Trembley. "I feel terrible that this happened to him. ... He's a great kid. Maybe he thought he could pitch through it. We all thought he was going to pitch a whole lot better than he did. If this was the reason why he didn't pitch as well as we thought he would, it's good to know that there was a reason for it."
