Uehara impresses in Orioles' loss
Hurler strikes out seven in return from strained hamstring

Nationals at the plate: Roger Bernadina started the game with a leadoff triple and scored on a one-out single by Kory Casto. Justin Maxwell singled, stole a base and scored on a base hit by Ian Desmond in the fifth. Washington loaded the bases in the seventh, and Bernadina drove a run home on a sacrifice fly.
Orioles at the plate: Adam Jones singled in the second inning and was picked off first base. The Orioles didn't have another runner until the fourth, when Ryan Freel was hit by a pitch. Nick Markakis singled in the fourth and the sixth, and Chris Gomez drove home Baltimore's run with a sacrifice fly.Nationals on the mound: Shairon Martis handcuffed the Orioles for six shutout innings and held the home team to just three hits. Martis escaped a base-loaded jam in the fourth and retired seven of the last eight batters he faced. Garrett Mock took the ball in the seventh and allowed two hits and a run. Orioles on the mound: Koji Uehara gave up a triple to the first batter he faced in his return from a strained left hamstring, but rebounded to have a productive outing. Seven of Uehara's 11 outs came by strikeout. Alfredo Simon gave up hits to the first two batters he faced and later escaped a bases-loaded jam with one run allowed.
