Orioles at the plate: Outfielder Nolan Reimold hit a two-run homer in the second inning, while designated hitter Robby Hammock had a two-run double in the seventh inning.
Nationals at the plate: Shortstop Cristian Guzman had an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the lead to 2-1. Josh Willingham hit a two-run homer off of Hayden Penn in the eighth inning. Anderson Hernandez tied the score, 4-4, in the ninth innning with a triple to right-center field. Hernandez then scored on a throwing error by second baseman Justin Turner.
Orioles on the mound: Right-hander Alfredo Simon pitched four shutout innings and gave up one hit. Right-hander Dennis Sarfate pitched two innings and gave up one run on two hits.
Nationals on the mound: Right-hander Shairon Martis gave up two runs in five innings. He now has a 2.08 ERA this spring. Left-hander Wil Ledezma pitched two innings and gave up two runs on two hits.
Grapefruit League records: Nationals 9-8-2; Orioles, 9-11.
Up next: The Nationals travel to Lakeland, Fla., for a Friday afternoon game against the Tigers at 1:05 ET. The two teams will face each other for the fourth time this spring, with Detroit having won two out of the three games.
The Orioles return to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to play the Mets at 1:05 p.m. Baltimore right-hander Danys Baez will face New York left-hander Oliver Perez.
