Orioles rally late to defeat Dodgers
Bigbie's RBI double caps win for Baltimore
VERO BEACH, Fla. -- Larry Bigbie's bases-loaded, two-run single in the sixth inning lifted the Baltimore Orioles to a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday at Holman Stadium.
Bigbie's hit off reliever Giovanni Carrara capped a three-run rally for the Orioles, who outhit the Dodgers, 14-5. Chris Gomez led the Orioles with four singles.
Winner Daniel Cabrera started for Baltimore and allowed two runs in five innings, including a solo home run by Hee-Seop Choi. The Dodgers also scored an unearned run on Cesar Izturis' RBI double in the third and on a bases-loaded wild pitch by Jorge Julio in the eighth inning.
Scott Erickson, named to the Dodgers starting rotation the previous day, allowed one unearned run in five innings. Mike Venafro took the loss. Luis Matos and Geronimo Gil also had RBIs for the Orioles.
