    B.J. Surhoff and the late Bill O'Donnell, who have been elected to the Orioles Hall of Fame this year, will be honored at a luncheon sponsored by the Oriole Advocates on Friday, August 24, in the Camden Yards Warehouse. Click here for details and ticket info »
     
  • Brian's Baseball Bash - Sunday, August 26
    This year's "Brian's baseball Bash" will take place on Sunday, August 26th from 6-9pm at the ESPN Zone in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 410-328-6064 ($200 – adults, $150 – children 12 and under). Proceeds from the event will benefit the University of Maryland Hospital for Children.

Orioles RBI League (Reviving Baseball in the Inner City) «Back to top
RBI encourages young adults ages 13-18 to stay in school, develop self-esteem, and enjoy the pleasures of big league baseball. RBI is a national Major League Baseball initiative administered and co-sponsored locally by the Orioles and Coca-Cola.

In 2002 &2003, the Orioles were the hosts of the RBI Regional Tournament, with teams from Philadelphia, Norfolk and Richmond.

Baltimore Baseball League «Back to top
Promoting the childhood pleasure of playing baseball and building better reading skills is the purpose of the Baltimore Baseball League. Under its watchful eye, over 800 fourth and fifth graders from 46 elementary schools play baseball for the first time. The program is supported by the Baltimore Orioles, the Baltimore City Department of Education, the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, and is run by the Parks and People Foundation.

Orioles/Coca-Cola Pitch and Hit Clinics «Back to top
Children in the Orioles region learn to play ball courtesy of Coca-Cola and the home team. At these clinics, Orioles players and coaches teach children ages 6-12 the fine art of pitching and hitting.

Maryland High School All-Star Game «Back to top
The best of Maryland's High School baseball players get the recognition their talents deserve through the High School All-Star Game. Since 1980, the Orioles have hosted the big event, giving young amateurs a chance to showcase their abilities by playing in a major league ballpark.

Little League Parade Day «Back to top
Little Leaguers parade the warning track like the pros on Little League Day at the park. In addition to participating in the parade and enjoying the game, each team receives a signed item from an Orioles player to use as a fundraiser for their league.

Junior Orioles Dugout Club «Back to top
Each year, over 10,000 children join the Junior Orioles Dugout Club and receive benefits which include: a membership card, membership certificate, an official giveaway, great discounts on Orioles tickets and much more.

Day Campers Days «Back to top
The Orioles host more than 9,000 day campers at the park on select weekday afternoon games during the season. Camps are offered reduced price tickets and one day camper is randomly selected to throw out the first pitch. Chevy Chase Bank sponsors 3,000 tickets for youth organizations to attend Day Campers Day.

Kids Run the Bases «Back to top
Each year, following an Orioles home game, more than 1,500 kids enjoy feeling like a big league player as they run the bases on the field at Camden Yards.

Making Wishes Come True «Back to top
One of the most active and least publicized programs coordinated by the ballclub is treating children and adults and terminal illnesses to an Orioles game. Requests are received from Make-A-Wish, Grant-A-Wish, the University of Maryland Medical Center*s Pediatric AIDS clinic, and individuals throughout the region. The Orioles invite these guests to meet their heroes and enjoy a game.

How many children would like to enjoy a big league game as a special guest of the Orioles? The Orioles are making this dream a reality for thousands of area children. Players purchase tickets to give children from charitable, non-profit youth organizations the opportunity to enjoy ballgames at Oriole Park.

The Orioles also host 10,000 students during Safety Patrol Days at the ballpark and contribute more than 3,000 tickets each year to charitable organizations.

Orioles Appearances «Back to top
Orioles heroes past and present take their place in the community and attend more than 250 appearances throughout the Orioles region. Clinics, schools, the Babe Ruth Museum, libraries, and Little League organizations benefit from this program.

The Orioles Bird mascot also "flies" to appearances all over the region. He makes more than 450 appearances in communities from Virginia to Pennsylvania.

The Orioles Wives Food Collection «Back to top
Each year the Orioles Wives host a food Collection to benefit the Maryland Food Bank. This important work has netted more than 70,000 pounds of food for needy Marylanders during the past 16 years. In 2003, the wives collected $8,000 in contributions that were used to purchase turkeys for Thanksgiving.

Cardboard to Leather «Back to top
Inspired by a Baltimore Sun article that chronicled youngsters in the Dominican Republic who played baseball with cardboard gloves, the Oriole Advocates' volunteer group Cardboard to Leather program provides baseball equipment, collected from Orioles fans, to children in developing countries.

Group Fundraising Nights «Back to top
Each year the Orioles receive thousands of donation requests and are able to successfully work with groups to maximize fundraising opportunities for worthwhile charities. Through the Orioles High Five Fundraising Program the Orioles have helped raise over $415,000 for non-profit groups since 2005. Learn More »

Orioles Community Partners Booth «Back to top
During each game the Orioles provide the community booth for charitable, non-profit organizations to give out information, sell raffle tickets, register participants, or do health care screenings for Orioles fans. Groups such as the American Cancer Society, Big Brothers/Big sisters, The Babe Ruth Museum, Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning and the Oriole Advocates use the booth each season.

Buck a Book «Back to top
Each year, the Orioles have supported York Literacy Council's Buck a Book program, in which kids read books to raise money for adult literacy programs. Schools who raise the most money are rewarded with a visit by an Orioles player.

Over 5,000 students and families from southern Pennsylvania come to an Orioles game each spring. Top readers visit with an Orioles player prior to the game.

Reading Makes Cents «Back to top
Baltimore County Elementary Schools encourage kids to read and raise money for literacy through their annual Reading Makes Cents program. Each year top readers come to the ballpark and meet an Orioles player during a pre-game ceremony.
